James Daniel Sundquist.The reclusive 32-year-old who lives
in Stockholm is taking a course of pills that are helping to
transform him.
“James says he has always felt like a woman in a man’s body,”
his mother Eva told the paper, “but he began to really
understand what was happening a few years ago. He went to his
doctor and he is now taking a course of pills that are helping
to transform him.”
However, Eva explains that her son’s decision has been a tough
one as the subject of sex change is still not talked about in
Sweden.
“It is very difficult for him,” she continued. “Most of Europe
is very liberal. But here in Sweden such behaviour is still a
taboo subject. He has been pretty depressed lately.”
James - or Nicole as he would now like to be known - was the
result of a brief relationship Eva shared with the guitar legend
back in 1968. While she says she informed Jimi that he was the
father of her child in 1969, Jimi never saw his son 
However, for a time, young James and Jimi’s father, Al Hendrix,
enjoyed a close relationship until Eva suggested that James be
entitled to some of his father’s estate. There followed a
10-year paternity suit in the US, which resulted in the courts
not recognising any heirs to the musician’s wealth.
Since Al died , Jimi’s brother Leon, along with
James and another illegitimate child called Tamika
Carpenter are battling it out in court to get their hands on
Hendrix’s fortune.
